Winter 2020: Books For The Modern Woman

Until seventh grade, I was taught at home by my mother. Every Monday she would take me and my brothers to the library to check out three books. We learned early the value of self-control; one must not read all three in one day thus depriving the remainder of the week of reading material. I credit this early love of reading to the present-day normalcy of having stacks of books read and to-read scattered throughout my house. But I have to confess, I have more often than not read for pleasure as opposed to education. It is not uncommon for me to begin something informative only to forsake it halfway through and pick up Persuasion for the umpteenth time. But with these modern-day perils of click-bate, sensationalized reports, and screen overload, I find the commitment to reading, and reading quality, more important than ever. Knowing that my library is limited, I reached out to a few respected friends of mine and asked for their reading recommendations for the modern woman. I hope you’ll stock your reading list with these top-picks!
