Challenge Accepted

Whether it be running a 10K, going to boot camp at 5:00 am, or trying your hand at Orange Theory, fitness challenges are better with friends. They say misery loves company, so perhaps that is why having a friend or two suffer through a boot camp alongside me seems to ease the pain. And aside from the obvious added accountability, I find it fun to have a level of competitiveness involved.

It is also helpful to have a goal to work towards. Whether it is completing the class with no absences or finishing the run in record time, doing a challenge (as opposed to a traditional regiment) gives parameters and measurable objectives. And as cliche as it sounds, it really does make it fun.

So find a local run to enter with your office, rally your squad to download the inKin app, or make some new friends by signing up for a boot camp. Your future self will thank you.
