Mission

As a female writer who was raised in the South, I find the experiences and perspective of southern womanhood underrepresented, if not neglected, in our society. Every day I see powerful, smart, talented women giving and leading in my community and in the communities around me.

The mission of The Southern Siren is to highlight women who inspire, empower, and uplift those around them. Also aiming to provide a voice to those that may otherwise go unheard, I hope this site can become a platform for the southern sirens out there who are speaking hope and sharing their soul with the world.

Rachelle Wilson was born in North Pole, Alaska but raised in Macon, Georgia. She penned her first story at age 6 and has grown as writer throughout her life. From poetry to travel blogs to magazine features to short stories, Rachelle’s love for writing runs deep. The Southern Siren was born out of her passion to write and to create a space for others to express their voice as well.
